Tin Man Challenge

Saturday 2nd June 2012 - 15 Friends

9am: 7 Mile Kyack Launching from Grove Place boat park, Falmouth. For safety we will be escorted by 2 boats across from Falmouth to Point Green at Devoran.

Approx 11am We will then pick up the Bissoe trial and run approx 12miles to Portreath beach car park.

Approx 2pm we will then cycle a 25mile route back to Truro via Porthtowan, St Agnes, Perranporth, Goonhavern, Trispen then finally Truro. We aim to cross our finish line situated on the Piazza between M&S and HMV at approx 4.30pm.

The finish line will be there from approx 12pm where we have permission to have an all day collection, we would love a big crowd there to cheer us in especially as its the Jubilee weekend and theres lots going on at the Piazza that day.

The 3 local causes are: Ella's Memory, Penhaigons Friends, The Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust

We have had great local support from TR1 Fitness, who have provided free memberships to the team up until the event date. Also Research Instruments in Falmouth have sponsored us via paying for our training tops and kit on the event day. Dales of Summercourt have kindly offered us one of their vans and trailors for our support wagon.

One of the guys doing the event who is from Harrogate has already raised over £1100.00 in sponsorship even before we have formally launched, this i find amazing especially as the donations are from people who live out of county! We really hope that the whole of Cornwall will cheers us on and support us in the event, all monies raised stays in Cornwall and will be equally split between these important local causes.
